Bhopal, Mar 19: Both ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress have declared their candidates for Betul Lok Sabha by-election. Hemant Khandelwal would be BJP candidate, while MLA Sukhdev Panse would be fielded from Congress.

Indore, Mar 19: After a cloth trader's nine-year-old son went missing last evening from this city, a case of abducted has been registered. Ashok colony-resident Abid Ali's son Salman had gone to purchase Holi colours at 6.30 pm last evening. A missing case was registered when he did not return till late night.

Bhopal, Mar 19: The budget session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly was adjourned sine die on Wednesday amid pandemonium over reported bribing of Samajwadi Party member Kishore Samrite to vote in favour of Congress-supported independent candidate Vivek Tankha in the Rajya Sabha elections to be held on March 26.

Bhopal, Mar 19: The Madhya Pradesh unit of Samajwadi Party (SP) suspended its MLA from Lanjhi constituency Kishre Samrite on the charge of his involvement in anti-party activities. Samrite had on Tuesday alleged that Congress leaders had attempted to bribe him for voting in favour of independent candidate Vivek Tankha, who is being backed by Congress and SP.

Lifer to 44 for killing three in Multai

Bhopal, Mar 19: A local court of Multai (Betul district) on Wednesday sentenced 44 people to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of three women four years back. According to prosecution, 46 people had vandalised houses of the Hungry Lohar family in Khateda village on December 27, 2004, and set them on fire.

Zero deficit budget for BMC presented

Bhopal, Mar 19: Bhopal Mayor Sunil Sood on Wednesday proposed zero-deficit budget for the first time in the history of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). Earlier, surplus budget was presented during the tenure of Umashankar Gupta in the past. However, the budget was not passed.
