Pathan leaves conference in between
Bhopal, Mar 20: Star Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan’s much-hyped
visit to the city of lakes on Thursday turned out to be damp
squib, as the all-rounder left the press conference in between
following some objectionable comments passed on him by a few
photo journalists.
Rajnath assures Left for support
Bhopal, Mar 20: Slamming the 123 Indo-US Nuclear Agreement,
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh on Thursday
assured the Left parties if they withdrew support from the
Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime over this
issue, then the saffron party would not be adamant about forming
a government at the Centre immediately.
CAG pulls Tourism Development Corp
Bhopal, Mar 20: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG)
has pulled up the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development
Corporation for not achieving its primary objective of promoting
tourism in the state. “The percentage of tourists availing its
facilities was negligible. Poor basic infrastructural facilities
and non-availability of professional staff to render quality
services were the main reasons for poor patronage of its hotels
by tourists'' says the CAG report for the fiscal year ending
March 31, 2007 presented in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on March
18.
International conference at RGTU ends
Bhopal, Mar 20: Three-day international mechanical engineering
conference at RGTU was concluded here Thursday, with the
identification of new horizons for mechanical engineering
research and innovations. The concluding day started with a
session on science and spirituality.
Concern over unplanned urbanization
Bhopal, Mar 20: Noted industrialists of Madhya Pradesh expressed
serious concerns over issues like the choking unplanned
urbanization of India having a prismatic development were
expressed. They were speaking at the Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII) celebrated its Annual Day on Thursday by
organizing a session on ‘Madhya Pradesh Infrastructure-the road
ahead’.
