Prohibitory orders imposed

Khandwa, Mar 21: Prohibitory orders were imposed at this district headquarters after police exercised mild force to control havoc caused by stone-pelting during a Milad-un-Nabi procession today. Stone-pelting began near Bombay Bazaar this morning. People in the procession retaliated similarly.

Conversion allegation

Ratlam, Mar 21: Acting on a complaint by Bajrang Dal, police raided a Christian training centre as part of investigations into alleged religious conversion activities there. Bajrang Dal workers complained about religious conversions allegedly carried out at the Discipleship Training School Programme (DTS).

Bhopal, Mar 21: Bajrang Dal activists blocked traffic at Misrod on Hoshangabad road for hours and also burnt a truck to protest against the police which allegedly allowed two trucks laden with bovines to pass by without taking any action. The bovines, they alleged, were being taken for being slaughtered.

Samrite’s statements recorded

Bhopal, Mar 21: Samajwadi Party MLA Kishore Samrite recorded his statements before the police here on Friday, in the case pertaining to money offered to him to vote for independent candidate Vivek Tankha in the Rajya Sabha election scheduled on March 28. The bribing case came to light on Tuesday night when Samrite called media persons and showing Rs 10 lakh cash informed that this amount was offered to him by Congress leader NP Prajapati.

Land pattas to tribals soon

Bhopal, Mar 21: The process of giving Pattas of land to tribals living in forest areas would be started soon. This was said by the Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan at village Menimata in Badwani district today where he also participated in Bhagoria, the traditional tribal festival. On this occasion Chouhan announced to give the status of Tehsil to Tappa Pati.

Rally to mark International Forest Day

Bhopal, Mar 21: A grand rally was taken out to mark International Forestry Day here on Friday. The rally originated from in front of Chief Minister's residence. Earlier, State Election Commissioner AV Singh, who was the chief guest, administered the oath to participating students of schools, colleges and other participants to strive for protection and augmentation of forests and wildlife.
