Fire at National Park

Umaria, Apr 21: Wildlife is under threat by an inferno that has been raging for the past six days in this district's Bandhavgarh National Park. Park managers claimed that all efforts were underway to douse the blaze which spread to a fresh area today. The file had been brought under control in many areas.

 

Three killed in mishap

Indore, Apr 21: Three people, including a married couple, were killed when a trawler collided with their motorcycle on Indore-Khandwa road here this morning, police said. Nanak Nagar resident Mukesh (32) his wife Pushpa (22) and Sweta (13) were travelling in a motorcycle when the accident took place at Asaram Bapu square.

 

Bride dies in accident

Jabalpur, Apr 21: A bride accidentally fell from a train and died just a day before her marriage, near Jhansighat station Government Railway Police said. Betulganj-resident Kavita Rathore was enroute from Betul to here from the Sanghmitra Express for her marriage with city-resident Manish Rathore today.

 

 

New transport system from June 1

Bhopal, Apr 21: Madhya Pradesh would soon have new public transport system in the state in which the entire operation of buses on state highways would go into the hands of private operators from June 1. Transport Minister Himmat Kothari while talking to media persons here on Monday said that in a bid to improve the public transport system in the state, the government has taken several important decisions including de-nationalization different routes.

 

Head constables to wear pistol in MP

Bhopal, Apr 21: Instead of carrying gawky rifle, the head constable across the state would now wield advanced firearms like revolver and pistol. The state government has approved a proposal in this regard and amendments have been made in the Madhya Pradesh Police Regulation Act for the purpose. Till now, the Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) and officials above the hierarchy line were vested with powers to wield the revolver and pistol.

 

Entries for Children's Welfare award

Bhopal, Apr 21: National Awards for Children's Welfare have been instituted by Union Woman and Child Development Ministry for honouring individuals and organisations doing excellent work in the field of children's welfare. Three individuals and five organisations putting up excellent work in this field would be honoured every year.

 

Shivraj inspects Shajapur grain market

Bhopal, Apr 21: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid a surprise visit to the Krishi Upaj Mandi at Shajapur on Monday and issued instructions to hold an enquiry of a trader Dhanraj Rathore for purchasing wheat at less than minimum support price (MSP) and concerning employee of Marketing Society Devi Singh to file FIR against them if found guilty. The Chief Minister inspected the samples of FAQ quality wheat on the mandi premises.

 

Muslim youths leave for Delhi for Sarabjit

Bhopal, Apr 21: Seeking clemency for Sarabjit Singh, the Indian on death row in Pakistan, Muslim youths from the state capital have left for Delhi riding on their bikes. The youths were flagged off from Gurdwara Nanaksar by Gurudwara head Gyani Dilip Singh.
