Probable ouster of Prahlad Patel from BJS
Bhopal, Jan 23: Following differences with Bharatiya Jan Shakti
(BJS) president Uma Bharti, former Union Minister Prahlad Patel
could not get place in the executive body of the party that was
declared on Wednesday. This is being considered probable exit of
Patel from the party.
CM demands Rs 1548 cr for drought-hit areas
Bhopal, Jan 23: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met the
Prime Minister Manmohan at his office in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister submitted a memorandum to Pawar asking for a
sum of Rs 1541 crores to tackle the drought affected regions of
the state. He also requested for a package of Rs 22,250 crores
as a special development programme to deal with drought in the
long term.
State govt increases share in irrigation projects
Bhopal, Jan 23: State government
has increased its share in the Centrally-sponsored Micro
Irrigation Project which aims at increasing the area of
irrigation using very less water. So far, state government's
share in this project was 10 percent which has now been
increased to 30 percent for general category farmers and 40
percent for farmers belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled
tribes.
Show of strength by Scindia in Gwalior
Gwalior, Jan 23: Member of Parliament from Guna Jyotiraditya
Scindia’s exhibition of strength was a grand success in Mohna
tehsil of Gwalior district on Wednesday. Over 50,000 farmers
from Gwalior-Chambal region participated in the farmers’
convention. Surprisingly, the people had started gathering at
the venue right from the morning, despite biting cold in
Gwalior. They remained there till 7 pm, when the meeting
concluded.
Software Technology Park in Malanpur
Bhopal, Jan 23: Information technology has a special importance
in today's life. The Software Technology Park, foundation of
stone of which has been laid at Ganga Malanpur in Gwalior, would
usher in development in the state and provide jobs to thousands
of youths in the area.
