Five SP MLAs missing from party convention
Bhopal, Mar 26: Taking the absence of five of party legislators
from Samajwadi Party (SP) convention held at Jabalpur, Samajwadi
Party National General Secretary Amar Singh who has been
appointed party observer for Rajya Sabha elections is coming to
Bhopal on Thursday. He would chalk out a strategy in favour of
Congress-supported independent candidate Vivek Tankha. Only
three party legislators Narayan Tripathi, Sunilam and Arjun
Palia were spotted in the party convention at Jabalpur.
Mulayam party president for three years
Jabalpur, Mar 26: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam
Singh Yadav was unanimously chosen the Samajwadi Party President
for three years during the party's three-day national convention
that underway. Yadav's name was proposed by SP Parliamentary
Party leader Ramgopal Yadav and supported by all members of the
National Executive. SP Vice-President Janeshwar Mishra, General
Secretary Amar Singh, MPs Jaya Bachchan, Jayaprada and other
leaders congratulated Yadav while workers raised slogans. Yadav
was also presented a gold crown.
Minister seeks suggestions in PDS
Bhopal, Mar 26: Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection
Minister Akhand Pratap Singh Yadav has written letters to MLAs,
Sarpanchas and secretaries of Gram Panchayats inviting their
suggestions for improvement in public distribution system. Singh
has said that this initiative has been taken with a view to
strengthening the present public distribution system further.
CBSE in model schools soon
Bhopal, Mar 26: From the next academic session, Central Board of
Secondary Education (CBSE) course for science and commerce
faculty would be introduced in class XI of Eklavya Model
Residential Schools, which have been opened to impart excellent
and quality education to students belonging to scheduled tribes.
Allegations to prevent MLA to vote
Bhopal, Mar 26: Madhya Pradesh Congress MLA Premchand Guddu on
Wednesday alleged that the state's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party
was stooping to mean tactics to prevent him from casting his
vote in Rajya Sabha elections to three seats from this state. In
a statement issued here, Guddu said, “The BJP is adopting these
tactics to ensure that all three of its candidates emerge
victorious.”
