16 killed, 10 injured in bus-truck collision
Bhopal, Jan 28: As many as 16
persons were killed and 10 others are seriously injured when a
bus collided with a truck near Guna district town on Monday. The
state government has announced ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 to kin of
each diseased. The private bus was on its way to Kumbhraj from
Guna when the mishap occurred around 10 km from Guna. While
seven died on the spot, the rest succumbed to their injuries in
the district hospital in Guna.
Central teams inspect Bhopal passport office
Bhopal, Jan 28: A joint team of Central Vigilance Commission and
Ministry of External Affairs on Monday reportedly raided the
Regional Passport Office. Though, officials claimed it as a
routine inspection carried out annually in each state, sources
claimed a few complaints led to the proceedings. The inspection
is likely to continue on Tuesday also.
1100 meritorious students on study tour
Bhopal, Jan 28: As many as 1100 meritorious students from all
districts of Madhya Pradesh left here on a study tour by a
special train this morning. Under the guidance and leadership of
over one hundred teachers these students would visit various
reputed institutions at Pune, Banglore and Kanyakumari to see
science research development works and also meet eminent
scientists there. This largest ever study tour of India so far
has been organized by MP Council of Science and Technology under
Excellence Mission. The students would return on February 6.
Minister calls tribal students to set target
Bhopal, Jan 28: Tribal Welfare and Forest Minister Vijay Shah
has called upon the tribal students to set a target in this era
of competition, work hard and move ahead in their lives towards
all round success. Shah was addressing the award giving ceremony
of Rani Durgawati Award for tribal girls and Shankar Shah Award
for tribal boys at the conclusion of state-level Leadership
Development Camp on Sunday.
Team from Uganda and Tanzania laud DPIP
Bhopal, Jan 28: The study team
which toured Madhya Pradesh has termed as commendable the
efforts of the state government for betterment of lives of poor
people of rural areas through its District Poverty Initiative
Programme (DPIP). The team members lauding the programe said it
was indeed remarkable achievements with the help of this
programme people have not only increased their income but their
self-confidence.
