Derailment near Indore

Indore, Mar 28: A coach of the Akola (Maharashtra)-Mhow 489 Fast Passenger train derailed this morning after one of its axles broke near Choral, 20 km from here, Railway sources said. No injury was reported and the track repeaired in four hours.

Gwalior, Mar 28: Six days after the death of a newly-married woman, daughter of this Shivpuri district’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), a dowry harassment case has been registered against seven people in Shivpuri. Gopal Goyal, who played the role of a mediator in solemenising the marriage, was arrested yesterday.

 

Four killed in mishap

Satna, Mar 28: Four labourers, including two women, were killed on the spot and three others injured seriously when an under construction well caved in at this district's Pala village. The digging work of a well was in progress in a field of farmer Ramlal Prajapati for several days and it had been digged upto 35 feet.

Bhopal, Mar 28: Three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nominees Maya Singh, Prabhat Jha and Raghunandan Sharma were on Friday declared elected to the Rajya Sabha in biennial elections to fill up three seats, from Madhya Pradesh, falling vacant next month.

 

Hydel projects assigned to NHDC

Bhopal, Mar 28: Three proposed hydel projects of Narmada Valley would be assigned to the NHDC, a joint undertaking of Madhya Pradesh government and National Hydro Power Development Corporation. These include 20 mw Raghavpur project, 25 mw Rosara project and 20 mw Basania project. In-principal sanction for this was given at a high level meeting of the Narmada Valley Development Authority today.

 

SIMI was establishing training centre

Bhopal, Mar 28: Preliminary investigation conducted in the arrest of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists, police have found clues that it was preparing a training center for its activists in Indore. Police sources said that documents recovered from SIMI leaders indicated that they had plans to get some sheds in industrial areas on lease.

 

Prohibitory orders imposed in Sarangpur

Rajgarh, Mar 28: Additional police force has been deployed in this district's Sarangpur after tehsil headquarters for the prohibitory orders imposed on following violence triggered during Rangpanchami on March 26. The situation was under control and 70 jawans of Additional police force and special task force have been deployed. No untoward incident was reported so far.

 

Workshop on environmental conservation

Bhopal, Mar 28: General people's participation is a must in the efforts for environmental conservation. These thoughts were expressed by Director General of the Academy of Administration Mala Shrivastava here today.
