Rs 360 cr to panchayats

Bhopal, Jan 29: Under Backward Region Grant Fund Scheme, Government of India's Panchayati Raj Ministry has released funds amounting to Rs 360 crore which included Rs 46 lakh to Madhya Pradesh government.

 

Pataudi land case

Bhopal, Jan 29: The hearing in the land transfer case related to the family of Bhopal Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, was postponed to February 4. The hearing could not take place due to the tight schedule of district collector. The hearing was slated to review the replies from the family of Bhopal Nawab.

 

Examination essential service

Bhopal, Jan 29: The State Government has declared all the work relating to the examination of the Board of Secondary Education as essential service. As per the order issued by the Home Department in this regard, staff cannot refuse to work in the essential service for a period of thee monthly from February 1, 2008.

Bhopal, Jan 29: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has returned from Delhi triumphantly. He was able to convince senior party leaders and the high command that under their guidance, the party is on course for another lease in office in Madhya Pradesh. There has been no major agitation; communal riots etc. The state is free from caste clashes like in neighbouring Rajasthan and naxal problem of Chhattisgarh.

Bhopal, Jan 29: Governor Balram Jakhar has exhorted the teachers to imbibe etiquettes and maturity and instill a sense of patriotism and social service among the young generation. These thoughts were expressed by Jakhar while addressing the function which was held for honouring recipients of state-level Rank and Bolt Awards for teachers and students at Samanway Bhawan here.

 

'Gaon ki Beti' scheme benefited 13,688 girls

Bhopal, Jan 29: The revised 'Gaon ki Beti' scheme has benefited 13,688 girls so far. The scheme which was first implemented in the year 2005 had benefited 2,418 girls in the inaugural year and 5,312 girls in the year 2006. From the year 2007, Gaon ki Beti scheme has been implemented in a revised format.

 

Training of accounts for Entrepreneur body

Bhopal, Jan 29: Entrepreneur Development Institute would be imparted training of accounts on computer free of cost to the girls and boys belonging to scheduled tribes. This three-month training would be organised in nine districts. The application forms for this training have been invited by February 20, 2008. Duration of the training session would be two hours daily.

 

Investment in poor people is a powerful tool

Bhopal, Jan 29: Speaking at the two-day workshop on 'tackling risks and vulnerabilities- Role of social protection' Rebecca Calder from DFID, Bangladesh said that investment in poor people is a powerful tool for transforming their lives. There is evidence that social protection even small but regular transfers of cash have huge benefits for the poor.
