Dhar, Jan 31: Analysis of samples has confirmed that 175 tonnes of beef, seized from 13 containers in this district, was that of cows and buffaloes. “The containers were seized on January 27 here and in Dhamnod. Khargone, Jan 31: Former Madhya Pradesh minister and Congress leader Chandmal Lunia died at a private hospital at Indore last night following a brief illness. He was 85. Lunia, who was a minister in the Shyama Charan Shukla cabinet after his election from Anjad constituency in 1967.

Bhopal, Jan 31: The much awaited Betul Lok Sabh by-election is likely to be delayed till May. This delay has dismayed Congressmen, who were hoping for ‘Khargone effect’ in Betul election. It is expected that the party would not perform well in the election if delayed few more months. After the death of Member of Parliament Vijay Khandelwal on November 13, 2007, the seat fell vacant and within six months, by-election has to be done by the end of May.

Bhopal, Jan 31: The state government, which has been constantly working in the direction of increasing power generation in the state, has started working on the strategy of generating 5810 megawatt more power. A target of 10 months has been fixed for giving final touches to the strategy. The state government is fully geared up to make all out efforts on its level not to let consumers face any power crunch.

 

No clue to abducted nine-year-old boy

Gwalior, Jan 31: The miscreants kidnapped a nine-year-old boy of a cement trader Nand Kishore Goyal from Anupam Nagar under University police station area last evening. The boy Utkarsh alias Raja is a student of class IV in Gwalior Glory School. On receipt of information the police stated search of red car in which the offenders were seen.
