Teachers be engaged in teaching work
Bhopal: The state government has instructed all the District Education Officers to ensure that teachers should remain present at their respective schools and do the academic work devotedly since this will ensure qualitative education. The officers have been told to give top priority to this work. They have also been instructed to undertake assessment of progress of capacity augmentation during the months of September and October. The officers have been asked to register the number of class-l students and teachers in October. This information should be posted on the web portal in the same month.
With a view to ensuring that teachers remain present in the classrooms regularly, the officers have also been instructed to present the lists of total number of teachers posted, their Unique IDs and institution of posting to the DDOs by getting the information available in the home page of education portal. The government has also instructed ail the DEOs to register all the newly appointed contractual school teachers on the education portal and they be given Unique ID following which information about their e-service books should also be posted.
It may be mentioned that an online education portal has been launched by School Education and Tribal Development departments with a view to ensuring better academic, administrative and fiscal management of the schools being run by government institutions. After assessment of information available on this portal, it has come to light that there are many discrepancies in the number of teachers in schools and the number of teachers who are entrusted the work of school-wise, class-wise capacity augmentation work.
In some districts, this difference is up to 50 percent. In some districts, correct posts of teachers and place of their posting have not been posted correctly, due to which the work of capacity augmentation is getting affected. In view of the above facts, the District Education Officers have been instructed to improve the situation.
