New technical education policy soon
Bhopal: The state government is evolving a new policy for technical education, vocational education and skill development. A Group of Minister has been constituted for this purpose, who will undertake study tours of various states to know the status of technical education there and a state level workshop will be organised. A Cabinet Sub-Committee will present its recommendations in this connection before the Cabinet in the next one month for chalking out an effective strategy.
Widows’ colony to be known as Jeevan Jyoti
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the State Government is committed to welfare and rehabilitation of gas victims. Chouhan with his wife Sadhna Singh visited the gas widows' colony in the Karond locality of state capital here today on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and celebrated the occasion with the widows and their families. Gas affected families were enthusiastic to have found the Chief Minister among them.
CM for immediate action in dacoity case
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions to police officials to ensure immediate arrest of dacoits who looted Rs 13 kg gold and Rs 3 lakh in cash from Bhopal office of Manappuram Gold finance company. He asked the home department and top police officers to make special arrangements at police headquarters for constant monitoring of serious crimes like dacoity, loot and murder. He was discussing the law and order situation with the senior police officers at his residence here on Tuesday.
Mandsaur to be declared holy town
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Mandsaur, where Pashupatinath temple is situated, will be declared as a holy town. Chief Minister Chouhan made this announcement while talking to journalists at Mandsaur helipad on Monday.
State government for smooth health services
Bhopal: The state government has taken effective decisions to ensure smooth health services in the hospitals of six government medical colleges in the state. The government has instructed divisional commissioners as well as deans of these colleges to avail the services of private doctors and physicians working with private hospitals, if need be. They have also been instructed to review arrangements made to prevent and treat swine flu and dengue.
Chouhan asks PM to distribute grains
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to immediately distribute the wasting food grain to the deserving category of poor at no cost following short term measures suggested by Supreme Court. In his letter to the Prime Minister, Chouhan said that it would be ironic if the procured food grain lying with Food Corporation of India is allowed to rot when a significant section of the population needs the food security cover.
New study centre of Bhoj varsity soon
Bhopal: Higher Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma has directed to open new study centres of Bhoj Open University where there are no colleges. While reviewing the Bhoj Open University Sharma said that image of the university should not be like that of one which distributes degrees. He said that quality education should become hallmark of the university. On the proposals of the MLAs for opening study centres Sharma said that centres will be opened within the next one month.
Ensure transparency in schemes: CM
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed the Divisional Commissioners to ensure transparency, promptness and sensitivity in implementation of various schemes and programmes to benefit the targeted people. He said that good governance and efficient administration is the top priority of state government. Chouhan was addressing a joint meeting of Divisional Commissioners and Inspectors General of Police, here at Mantralaya on Friday.
Interactive Session in Kolkata on Aug 31
Bhopal: Under the campaign to attract industrial investment in Madhya Pradesh, Industry Interactive Session is being organized at Kolkata on August 31. Industry Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya will address the Session as Chief Guest. More than 200 industrialists, investors and CEOs of industrial units of West Bengal and the nearby states have been invited to attend the Industry Interactive Session at Kolkata.
Cities of Madhya Pradesh to be air-linked
Bhopal: A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today decided to link major cities of the state by air service through private sector operators. In the first phase, Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Satna will be linked through this service. A policy to this effect has also been endorsed. The cabinet also took decisions about constituting a separate Aviation Cell in Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, arrangements for seat reservation; compensate VAT for fuel for aircraft etc.
