Planning Commission praises efforts

Bhopal: Planning Commission of India member Narendra Jadhav commended the state government’s initiatives for up-gradating the skill of traditional artisans and expansion of job-oriented education and training facilities. Jadhav is on visit to Madhya Pradesh regarding inaugurating a regional workshop on state and union territories on skill development. He thanked the Chief Minister for the cooperation.

Ideal residential schools to be completed

Bhopal: Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said that construction work of six Eklavya ideal residential school buildings should be completed in time so that these schools can be opened from the next academic session. He instructed the officers to have MoU with the construction agencies.

Rs 43.28 crore for Sagar medical college

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions to complete ongoing construction works of Sagar Medical College and Hospital by December end this year. He approved Rs 43.28 crore for infrastructure works for the purpose in the second supplementary budget. He was reviewing the activities of medical education department at Mantralaya here on Monday.

CM for making MP a prosperous State

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today called upon people to resolve to make Madhya Pradesh a prosperous and developed state by honestly discharging obligatory duties. ''Collective strength of government and community should be devoted to welfare of people and development of state,” said Chouhan, while addressing people at state-level function to celebrate 64th Independence Day in the state capital today.

Seven killed by police van near hospital

Bhopal: Seven people were killed and over a dozen others injured when a police van hit four vehicles at the busy Royal Market area in Bhopal today. The police constable driving the vehicle fled the spot soon after the accident. Late in the evening Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also visited the injured persons at hospital.
The incident happened when the driver of the van, which was going back to Bhopal Central jail after admitting some prisoners at Hamidia Hospital, lost control over the vehicle and hit two motorbikes, an auto-rickshaw and a mini bus, police officials added.

UAD Minister for banning mines, crushers

Bhopal: Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur has asked the officials not to allow stone crushers and mines functioning in the municipal corporation area. The dust emitting out of them are harmful to the citizens, he said. Babulal Gaur issued these instructions at a review meeting of different development works being conducted in the state capital.

Credibility of media at stake: CM

Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the credibility of media is at stake in the era of market economy. Media can play a meaningful role with constructive approach only when it becomes a mission. He was dedicating to people a weekly news paper LN Star launched by the LNCT Media Group at Ravindra Bhawan here on Friday. The Chief Minister said that the media should expose the shortcomings in governance, but it should also highlight the positive aspects. Referring to strengths of media, he said that the fraudulent cannot remain unnoticed.

Transport business not allowed from city

Bhopal: Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur has said that transport business will not be allowed to be run from the city any more in view of ensuring smooth traffic and motor mechanics will also have to shift to the Transport Nagar developed at Kokta at a cost of Rs 30 crore. Gaur reviewed the situation by visiting the Transport Nagar at Kokta this morning. Collector Nikunj Shrivastava, in-charge commissioner of Bhopal Municipal Corporation Kumar Purushottam and other officers and citizens were present on the occasion.

Other sources of energy to be tapped

Bhopal: Along with use of conventional resources, other sources like solar, wind, biomass, and underground energy will also be tapped for increasing power production in the state. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said this while performing the bhumi pujan of the First solar Energy Park at Ganeshpura Village in Rajgarh district today. Both Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah performed the bhumi pujan.

Farooq assures cooperation to States

Awarding the states doing excellent work in this sector is also being considered. These views were expressed by Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah while addressing a meeting at Bhopal on Thursday. He said that laudable works have been undertaken in Madhya Pradesh in new and renewable energy sector.
