Bhopal: Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Resources (Independent charge) Rajendra Shukla has said that self-reliance in the power sector is necessary for making Madhya Pradesh prosperous. He exhorted the departmental engineers to essay an important role in providing better services to the power consumers.

Promote family planning as campaign

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions to promote family planning on a campaign basis. He said that eligible couples would be motivated to adopt family planning. Cooperation of people's representatives will be enlisted to spread the message. All party meet would soon be convened regarding this.

Rural transport system to be strengthened

Bhopal: The state cabinet chaired by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken a decision to strengthen the rural transport system as per the Transport Policy 2010. According to the transport policy the routes have been divided into two categories - general route and rural route. The general route will be those which connect with the tehsil headquarters, or administered by the Municipal Corporation, Municipality or Nagar Panchayat. Even a part of general route will be called as general route.

Priority to save forest dwellers: Sartaj

Bhopal: Forest Minister Sartaj Singh has said that our priority is to save forest dwellers from exploitation by middlemen and providing employment to them. Whatever plantation is undertaken for upgrading bamboo or other forests, it will lead to conservation of soil and water. The forest dwellers require training to handle forest-based raw material so that they can get better prices for their produce while conserving forests.

State for round the clock power supply

Bhopal: Minister of State for electricity and mineral resources (Independent Charge) Rajendra Shukla said that the state government is determined to provide 24 hours power supply to the rural areas. He said that the state government will provide all assistance and cooperation to the power companies which participate in the unique scheme of feeder separation. He was addressing a Bidders Meet (meeting of tenderers) at Mumbai today. The state government has organised a meeting of the bidders of the big firms working in the field of electricity for implementation of feeder separation scheme.

Save forests, save human and wildlife

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that sustainable harnessing and non-exploitation of forests will save humans and wildlife. Attributing the cause of global warning to destruction of forests, he said large scale plantations is the only alternative in sight for improving greenery to avert harmful effects of global warning. He was addressing Laharpur Van Mahotsava function in the Bhopal forest circle here on Monday.

Bhopal: Cracking the mystery behind theft of Rs 17 lakh from a bank account through internet banking, Madhya Pradesh police's cyber cell has arrested three people, including a private bank's assistant manager. “Yes Bank Assistant Manager Ritesh Chokse, insurance agent Rahul Sharma and screen printing worker Shyam Yadav were arrested yesterday,” Director General of Police SK Raut told reporters here today.

Civic bodies’ role in tourism is important

Bhopal: Urban Administration and Development, Gas Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Babulal Gaur said that the role of local bodies in tourism development is very important. He said that keeping the tourism places clean, removing encroachment as part of beautification scheme and providing basic facilities are the job of the local bodies. If the city is kept clean, more and more tourists will visit the tourism interested places.

Centre urged to clear orgnaised crime bill

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged the Centre to clear the Bill passed by Madhya Pradesh State Assembly for prevention of terrorism and control of organized crime. Chouhan met the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram here today and drew his attention to Madhya Pradesh Terrorism and Disruptive Activities and Control of Organized Crimes Bill, 2010 pending with the Union Home Ministry for a long time.
