Services Guarantee Act passed in House
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Public Services Guarantee Act 2010 is the first ever law in the country which guarantees delivery of public services to common people in a stipulated time frame. Replying to a debate on the Bill in the State Assembly here today, Chouhan described it a historic day. The Bill was passed with a voice vote after his reply.
Land earmarked for Industrial Corridor
Bhopal: With a view to provide land and other facilities for industrialization in the state the Gwalior district administration has earmarked 11,807 acres of land for Industrial Corridor. District Collector Akash Tripathi informed that this land has been earmarked on both sides in a radius of five km of the North-South National Highway (NH 75). It may be mentioned here that the state government is taking quick action with a view to utilise the opportunities for industrial development in Gwalior district.
Eco-friendly premises soon at Academy
Bhopal: Board of Governors Administration academy decided to develop the academy premises as eco friendly and add the academy with Wi-Fi network facilities. The meeting held at academy premises on Saturday to review its activities. All the street lights will also be changed into solar street lights.
Sports infrastructure to be improved
Bhopal: Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tukojirao Puar said that along with encouraging sports and sportspersons special attention is being paid for improvement in infrastructure. The state government has provided enough funds in the budget for sports. The budget for sports department has been increased 15 fold, from Rs 4 crore to Rs 60 crore.
CS meets power company officials
Bhopal: Chief Secretary Avnish Vaish had a detailed discussion here with the representatives of the private companies about the problems they are facing while implementing the projects of power production. On this occasion concerned senior officers of the state government were present. The representatives of the companies explained the experiences they faced while implementing the projects and said that the Madhya Pradesh government is giving them all possible assistances. They explained about the progress of the projects through presentations.
GST will fuel price rise: Raghavji
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Raghavji today said the Centre''s bid to introduce Goods and Services Tax (GST) would fuel the price rise in the country. Before the State’'s over Rs 3370 crore supplementary budget for 2010-2011 was passed, Raghavji said the state is not averse to GST regime but if it was introduced in the present form it is bound to fuel price rise in the country.
State Assembly Speaker hurt with allegations
Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker, Ishwar Das Rohani was today so hurt by charges levelled against him by a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA that he described it as an insult of the legislature and the chair. “The Chair is being constantly attacked. Members should not remain neutral in this matter. By maintaining silence, the House is allowing members to do so,” said Rohani, reacting to objectionable comments made by Bahujan Samaj Party's Parasram Mudgal.
mBillionth Award to Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal: The prestigious first South Asia mBillionth Award for excellent and unique work in Mobile Governance has been given to Madhya Pradesh. The excellent work was done in forest department, urban administration and development department, and in district Katni.
Panel for justice to gas victims announced
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has reiterated his commitment to welfare of Bhopal gas affected families and bringing justice to them. He announced to appoint an inquiry commission to do justice to the gas affected families and punish those responsible for the disaster. He was replying to discussion on adjournment motion on Bhopal Gas Tragedy moved by the Opposition in the state Assembly today.
Tributes to martyrs on Kargil Day
Bhopal: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid tribute to the martyrs of Kargil War. He said that it is our duty to honour martyrdom. He was addressing Kargil Victory Day function here on Monday. Chouhan praised the brave soldiers who laid their lives for the country. He paid tribute to martyrs Captain Shreyansh Kumar Gandhi, Captain Devashish Sharma and Captain Ajay Kumar.
