Bhopal: With a view to give education in health management, one year Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management is being started at the State Health Management and Telecom Institute, Gwalior. Public Health Foundation of India, New Delhi will provide technical assistance to this course.
Minister of State for Public Health, Family Welfare, Medical Education Mahendra Hardia while giving this information said that it has been felt for a long time in the field of medical education that the doctors should also know better management of health facilities along with treatment of patients.

Three cities from MP in Solar programme

Bhopal: The Central Government will consider to including Bhopal, Jabalpur and Rewa under solar energy programme. The Central Government has already selected 60 cities in the country and Gwalior and Indore are included among them. This was informed by the Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farookh Abdullah in reply to a letter written by the Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur.

Chouhan demands GoM compensation

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Saturday demanded that the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Bhopal gas leak tragedy revisit the issue of compensation as 90 percent of the victims had been left out of the additional relief announced last month.

Lac declared scheduled forest produce

Bhopal: The environment in the state is in favour of lac production and it is produced in the districts of Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, Shahdol, Mandla, Hoshangabad etc. To improve lac production and to give benefit to the collectors the state government has declared it as scheduled forest produce in the year 2009 and divided the state into 36 units to conduct the collections in a systematic way. To improve collection of this forest produce the rate of collection has been increased by about 20 per cent in the year 2010.

Delhi-Mumbai Corridor reviewed

Bhopal: Chief Secretary Avnish Vaish chaired on Thursday the empowered committee constituted by the state government for Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project. The committee discussed about the proposals for Early Bird Projects, Concept Master Plans and other proposed projects under Pithampur-Dhar-Mhow investment region. Managing Director of MP TRIFAC Anil Kumar Jain informed the committee about the progress made in implementation of the project.

CBI’s stand was surprising: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has written a letter to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh describing the CBI’s opposition to the appeal preferred by Madhya Pradesh Government against the June 7, 2007 judgment of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Bhopal on the Bhopal gas disaster, as quite surprising and more unfortunate.

HC asks Dow to disclose assets

Jabalpur: The Jabalpur High Court has directed Dow Chemicals to disclose its assets, liabilities and other business interests in India and produce the Union Carbide’s merger documents with the company by August 17. A division bench of Justice Arun Mishra and Justice SC Sinha issued the directives in response to two applications moved during hearing of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) remediation of Union Carbide site.

CM clarifies position on allegations

Directives for cleanliness in schools

Bhopal: Instructions have been given to all the district collectors and CEOs of district Panchayats through a circular to ensure that extra cleanliness is undertaken while preparing midday meals, and that fresh meals are prepared everyday during the monsoon season. These instructions have been given by Panchayat and Rural Development and Social Justice Minister Gopal Bhargava.
